Yeonhwa: a reduction in how severe or unpleasant something is - Yeonhwa
It had been a month for me to go out.
I made an appointment with a friend of mine
as going out to hand out some documents.
It must be a latter one if deciding
‘weather fairy’ or ‘weather failure’ for me.
I realized that it was extremely cold
as soon as leaving house.
Biting wind was on the stage literally
only during that day.
It was relatively warm until the day before considering it was winter.
I don’t know what’s the matter.
...
She texted me probably to be late a little.
I had a seat in Yeonhwa and
looked around its interior.
Yeonhwa had such an intense
Korean-style atmosphere.
Yeonhwa was a place of deeply Korean-based interior.
They were some sort of representative cases,
white wall without any ornament
and wooden furniture.
People may love something
familiar rather than something
not as feeling happy for this café.
Although most of cafes in Korea
got upward leveling and there are lot of
beautiful cafes due to aforesaid reason,
it’s not that easy to find out
ones of local-biased vibe.
Green-painted eaves to look similar with leaves.
Installing pillars rather than walls
not to divide from the nature.
Harmonizing, calm, and not flaunty.
Yeonhwa shows a beauty of Korean architecture
which is pursuing concord with the nature.
Even cosiness by sunlight came through the curtain wall was satisfying.
I saw wood-panel flooring after a long time.
The floor made creaking sound
every time I walked
but not that bothering.
It was instead as nostalgic reminding me of
the time in elementary school.
I am not such an old guy, but flooring
in elementary school was
wood panel until I graduated.
It may be because I lived in a rural area.

I visited Yeonhwa before.
The line up has more desserts than that time.
I loved Korean desserts were also on the menu.
Bonnibam was a signature dessert
getting Yeonhwa popular.
Bonni means husk of chestnut or acon.
It seems like boiling down
chestnut without peeling.
Yeonhwa uses Co-03 machine of CIME.
Co-03 has heat exchanger and is
a semi-automatic espresso machine.
Cafes on the periphery of Dongdaegu Station
seems uncongested but actually is crowded.
Semi-automatic machine to extract constant
espresso once setting value is appropriate.
If using manual one, I cannot guarantee
when you can get your order.
It is told that heat exchanger is better
to steam milk than double boiler.
If you visit Yeonhwa,
I would recommend to order latte.
Almond breeze with a drop of caramel syrup.
I wait for spring when winter comes.
I remember winter when it’s spring.
I trace back the memory of tough cold weather
even eagerly looking forward to warm weather.
Skin-scratching-like biting wind.
Trembling body and muscle pain.
Warmness that comes
after the painful time passes
gives me lassitude in a good way.
I am a spring-person, not winter.
I am extremely weak at coldness.
I accept the eased winter as brainwashing myself that the spring is coming
but trembling body is out of my hand.
It’s still winter and I wish spring without
brutal wind and of warm sunlight come.
A cup of warm coffee, however,
has already got my body eased.
